Seed paper, also called plantable paper, is handmade paper with seeds inside. We print it with your artwork as sheets, cards, tags, notebooks and calendars. After use, it goes into soil and grows tomato, marigold or basil.
WHAT IS SEED PAPER?
Paper with
seeds inside.
Seed paper is made by hand from cotton textile waste. Seeds go into the pulp while the sheet is formed, so they sit inside the paper, not glued on top. Plantable paper and seed paper are two names for the same material.
We print on it with water-based ink. The surface keeps its long fibres and small flecks, and each sheet looks a little different. Once the card, tag or cover has done its job, the paper is planted and the seeds grow.

What is seed paper?
Seed paper, or plantable paper, is handmade paper with seeds inside. bioQ makes it from cotton textile waste and prints it with water-based ink. After use, it is planted and the seeds grow.
Is plantable paper the same as seed paper?
Yes. Plantable paper, seed paper and seeded paper are names for the same material: paper made with seeds in it, so it can be planted.
Which seeds are in bioQ seed paper?
Tomato, marigold or basil. Choose one for your order.
Can you print our logo or artwork on seed paper?
Yes. Sheets, cards and tags are printed on one side with your artwork in water-based ink. Fine text, large solid areas and exact colours need an artwork check on the handmade surface, and you approve a proof before printing.
How long does seed paper take to sprout?
Fast seeds sprout in 3 to 5 days, most in about a week and some take up to two weeks. Dry or hot weather can slow them.
How long do the seeds stay good?
Plant the paper within a year of receiving it for the best chance of growing.
Are the pages of a seed paper notebook plantable?
The cover is seed paper and the writing pages are ordinary paper, so plant only the cover. Every sheet of the seed paper colouring book is plantable.
How long does an order take?
Many standard orders complete in 3–5 working days; the final time depends on quantity, branding and packaging.
Do you deliver seed paper across India?
Yes. Shipping is free within India. For orders abroad, plantable pieces travel with a phytosanitary certificate.
