NOTE began with a question about what is hidden inside an everyday pen. The earlier work explored a paper refill. This chapter takes a different route: bamboo as the body and the ink reservoir.

NOTE’s original refill technology was granted an Indian patent on 24 May 2024. It is held by bioQ Eco Solutions Private Limited.

The granted invention is “A biodegradable refill for a biodegradable writing tool and a method thereof”. The proposed 2027 bamboo reservoir develops the work beyond that earlier refill.

Is this the NOTE pen covered in 2024?

This revival proposes a new bamboo construction. Earlier coverage principally describes the paper-refill work and helps tell the development story; it does not validate this new build.

Is there a separate refill?

The proposed construction holds ink directly inside coated bamboo, without a removable cartridge. It is intended to be used until its ink is finished. Final writing performance and instructions will follow testing.

What happens when the ink is finished?

Disposal instructions will depend on the actual coating, ink and metal tip. The complete pen should not be put into compost based on these concept renders.

Can I place an order now?

This preview does not collect details, accept payments or reserve stock. Samples and bulk bookings are planned for January 2027, with fulfilment from February.
