No plastic in the bag.

Padcare recycles sanitary waste. Its own gift could not contain anything that becomes waste. So: a jute tote, a bamboo flask, a mug made from coffee husk, a cork coaster and paper pens with seeds in the caps. Every piece carries the mark; none of it is plastic. Padcare keeps coming back for it, about 500 kits at a time.

The brief was the company.

When a company's whole business is keeping things out of landfill, its gift is audited by everyone who receives it. A plastic bottle in the bag would be noticed. So the list was built by asking, of each piece, what it becomes when it is done with.

Jute composts. Bamboo composts. The mug is coffee husk bound in plant resin and lasts for years. Cork is bark and regrows. The pens are paper with a seed capsule, so they end as a plant. One black mark on each piece, printed, pressed or engraved as the material allows.
