Plantable · a notebook, pencils, a bag

One bag, all plantable.

For Microsoft's Family Day in 2022, twelve thousand bags with no part that ends in a bin: a seed-paper notebook with the four squares on the cover, plantable colour pencils, and a kraft tube, carried in a cotton-net bag that gets reused for fruit.

Most gift kits have a half-life. The hero piece lasts; the box, the tissue, the filler go the same day. This one was built so that every part has a next life: the notebook pages are seed paper, the pencils carry seeds, the tube is kraft, and the bag is the kind people keep for the market.

The four-colour mark is printed small on the notebook cover and on the bag's card, so the kit reads as Microsoft without shouting it.

Write it, then plant it.

Film

The notebook, after the notes.

A used page goes into a pot under a thin layer of soil. Kept moist, it sprouts in about ten days. Our own planting film.
