Unique corporate gifts that are not ordinary
A unique corporate gift is one the receiver has not seen before and still has a use for in a year. Three tests decide it: it is made of something real that you can name, it does something after the day, and it carries your mark without becoming a billboard.

What makes a corporate gift unique?
Most corporate gifts are interchangeable. Any company could have sent them, so the receiver remembers the box and forgets the sender. A gift that is different passes three simple tests.
1. It is made of something real. Real preserved plants and moss, seed paper, cork, bamboo, recycled paper and jute are materials a person can name and feel. A gift whose story is a list of green words is harder to believe than one whose material is on the table in front of you.
2. It does something after the day. It writes, it sits on a desk for years, it is planted, or it marks a milestone people want to keep. A gift with no second life ends in a drawer.
3. It carries your mark without shouting. Your logo on the piece or its packaging, your colours, your own words, or a piece built around something of yours. The gift stays a gift, not an advertisement.
Which ideas pass all three?
These are pieces bioQ makes, each shown with its base rate on its own page. Plants come first in all of them.
| The idea | Why it is different | Where to start |
|---|---|---|
| A pencil that becomes a plant | It writes properly, then the seed capsule at the end goes into soil. | Plantable Seed Pencil · Plantable gifts |
| Seeds in a bottle | Tiny glass bottles of seeds and moss: planted in a pot, or kept as a small piece of decor. | Seeds of Celebration · Seed balls, seed bombs and seed bottles |
| A forest that needs no water | Real plants, preserved: no watering and no sunlight. An open piece keeps its look for 3 years or more, a piece closed under a cover for 5 or more, kept indoors. | Forest Terrarium Landscape · Preserved plants |
| A calendar you plant | Seed-paper cards for the months, planted when the month ends. | Plantable and eco-friendly desk calendars |
| An award that is a keepsake | A trophy or memento with real preserved plants and a name or message on it, not a cup. | Trophies, awards and mementos |
| A piece built around the receiver | Their own object, artwork or message, with preserved plants and moss as the medium. | Bespoke gifts |
How do you make a standard piece feel made for the receiver?
There is a ladder, and you choose the rung. The piece itself, with no brand on it. The piece with your logo, on the piece or on its packaging when the piece is too small for a large design. The piece with your colours and words. Or a piece built around something of yours, which is bespoke work.
For a bespoke piece we reply in a day, send a concept in 3 days and a finished sample in a week. Bespoke pieces are quoted against a brief. Start a bespoke brief or see what has been made for others.
What should you tell a supplier first?
Five things get you a useful shortlist in one reply:
- How many gifts, in a round number.
- Budget per gift, before GST.
- The occasion: Diwali, a new joiner, a client thank-you, an award, a function.
- The date it has to be in hand.
- Who is asking: a company buying directly, or a gifting partner.
Send them on the contact page or add pieces to your brief as you browse. We reply in one day.
What should you be careful about?
Green words. Be wary of any supplier, us included, that promises more than the material can deliver. We do not claim that a gift is 100% sustainable, and what we do and do not claim is set out on How it is made.
Plantable gifts. Seeds are living things. Plant them within a year of receiving them, give them soil, water and light, and expect fast seeds to show in 3 to 5 days, most in about a week and some in up to two weeks. Very dry or hot weather slows them. Germination depends on the seed and the conditions, so it is a gift of something to grow, not a guarantee of a harvest.
Preserved plants. They need no water, but they do need an indoor spot away from damp and direct sun.
