A candle that is only wax.
DK10 is a compact pillar candle made from pure beeswax, 3 inches tall and 1.5 inches across. Its surface carries the hexagonal honeycomb pattern of the sheet it is rolled from, and the spiral of that roll stays visible at the top of the candle.
Most inexpensive gift candles are paraffin, a petroleum by-product, scented and dyed to cover the base material. This one is not. The colour is the natural gold of the wax, the texture is the comb the wax came out of, and there is no added fragrance — beeswax carries a faint honey note of its own as it burns. That makes it a straightforward object to include in a gift where the material story has to survive being asked about.
The size is deliberate. At 3 inches it sits inside a hamper, a desk gift or a festive pack without dominating it, and it works as a devotional light, a table accent or an ingredient-led addition to a larger set.

Burning it well

Trim the wick to about 5 mm before the first light, and again if it grows long or begins to smoke.

Burn it on a heat-resistant holder or plate. Beeswax softens as it warms and the candle has no container of its own.

Keep it away from draughts, which pull the flame sideways and make the candle burn down one edge.

Never leave a burning candle unattended, and keep it clear of children, pets and anything that catches.
Burn time depends on wick trim, draught and how long the candle is lit at a time, so bioQ does not publish a single figure.

What is DK10 made of?
Pure beeswax and a wick. There is no paraffin, no added dye and no added fragrance. The gold colour is the natural colour of the wax and the honeycomb surface is the pattern of the sheet the candle is rolled from.
How big is the candle?
3 inches tall and 1.5 inches in diameter, weighing about 40 g. It is packed in a 3.5 × 3.5 × 8 cm box, which is small enough to drop into a hamper or festive pack without reworking the packing.
Why beeswax rather than paraffin or soy?
Paraffin is a petroleum by-product, and most inexpensive gift candles use it under scent and dye. Beeswax is a by-product of honey production and needs neither. For a gift where somebody may ask what the object is made of, the answer is one word.
Does it have a scent?
Nothing is added. Beeswax has a faint natural honey note of its own as it burns, which is the wax rather than a fragrance oil.
How long does it burn?
bioQ does not publish a single burn time. It depends on how short the wick is trimmed, whether the candle sits in a draught and how long it is lit at a time. A candle burnt in short sittings in still air lasts considerably longer than the same candle in a moving room.
Does it need a holder?
Yes. It is a pillar candle with no container of its own, so it should be burnt on a heat-resistant holder or plate. Beeswax softens as it warms.
Can it carry our logo?
